I hope you have enjoyed learning some of the basics of sewing. Although your pattern or sewing project may have been different than mine, the sewing techniques and sewing order are basically the same. As you are looking through patterns for your next--and solo!--sewing project, you may notice that there are only a few basic bodice, sleeve, and skirt types; the design elements and embellishments are what make each garment different. We haven't covered proper fitting techniques, nor have we covered advance sewing techniques here. Many resources for learning these things are available at the library and online. In fact, several of the websites recommended here may have tutorials and recommendations for learning more advanced sewing techniques. One thing to remember is this: you never stop learning about sewing! I've been sewing for about sixteen years now and I'm still learning new things related to sewing! I will always try to answer any sewing questions you might have, and I would also love to see pictures of the progress of your sewing projects. Please feel free to e-mail them, along with any questions you might have, to Belinda@sewseamless.com |

When pressing a seam, first press it closed, as stitched. This is called sandwich pressing. After sandwich pressing, press the seam open. |
