How to Sew Shorts/Pants, Cont'd |
Cut out the shorts/pants pattern. There will be two back leg pieces and two front leg pieces. If you will notice on the pattern pieces shown on the previous page, the crotch is deeper on the back leg. After cutting out the pattern pieces, sew the short inside/inner leg seam, as illustrated here. Press as stitched and the press the seam open. Now you will sew the side seams, which is the longer seam. When you have finished sewing and pressing these seams, you will have two completed legs of shorts or pants. They will be sewn together at the crotch seam. |
