How to Sew A Pillowcase, Cont'd
Completed pillowcase
Pillowcases are a great project for a beginning seamstress. This particular
pillowcase is very easy to make. Detailed directions can be found beginning here.
Because I use one yard of fabric, this pillowcase will fit a standard bed pillow,
and might even fit a queen size pillow, although I haven't measured. (It is a bit
large on a standard sized pillow.)

By way of review, fold one yard of fabric lengthwise, sew the bottom and side
seam, and either press open or serge the seams. Finish the raw edge of the top
of the pillowcase. Measure a four inch hem if the raw edge is serge finished, and
4- 1/4 inches if turning under the raw edge. Sew the hem close to the finished
edge. Turn right side out and press well, and the pillowcase is complete.
