How to Sew Blankets |
Sewing reversible blankets can be lots of fun! Simply buy one yard each of different flannel prints. There are two ways to sew this reversible blanket. The easiest way to sew a reversible blanket is to put wrong sides together and serge around the outside, rounding corners as you go. I saw this idea on Sandra Betzina's tv show when it was airing on HGTV a few years ago. |
Make sure to preshrink flannel before sewing with it. Sandra Betzina suggests using a size 80/12H (Universal) sewing machine needle for sewing flannel fabric. |

This blanket takes very little fabric. buy one yard each of a different flannel print; this will make the blanket reversible. |
As you can see in the picture to the left, I have two different fabrics that I will sew together to make this blanket. (This example is sewn in miniature.) |
