How to Sew A Neck Pillow, Cont'd |
Neck pillow sewn, with space left for turning right side out. |
Neck pillow seams clipped with pinking shears. |
Make sure to press well after stitching the neck pillow. These seams don't need to be pressed open, so all that is needed is sandwich pressing (pressing seams flat as stitched). |
Outward curved seams should be notched, and my way of doing that is to trim these seams with the pinking shears. Both inward and outward seams need to be clipped to, not through the stitching line. |
Neck pillow seams, trimmed and clipped. |
(Although it is probably not necessary, I like to trim the seams on neck pillows.) After trimming and clipping the seams, turn the neck pillow right side out, and press well. The next step is to fill the neck pillow with fiberfill and hand sew the opening closed. |
